The Shop
2001 – New Beginnings
We opened our doors for the first time in a small, intimate boutique on the Helensburgh seafront, offering a “One Stop Shop” wedding emporium to plan your entire day (hence the name “The Wedding Planner”), including a stunning bridal and bridemaids range.
2012 – Blossoming into a Bridal Store
Although we had started as a full wedding co-ordination service our clients guided us to streamline our business and in 2004 we began concentrating wholely on Bridal Retail – as this is what we do best!
2010 – Shop Move
We needed a bigger boutique to showcase our amazing bridal and bridemaid collections and we moved (just along the street!) to our present home at No. 52! We just love our beautiful store!
2017 – Awards
We are so moved to have been nominated in every major Wedding Awards in Scotland so many times!! (VOWS – 9 times, Confetti – 6 times – to name but a few!!!!) We owe swo much to our amazing brides who took the time to vote for us – we love you all!

The People Behind The Scene
KJ Mills
Owner/Team Leader
KJ opened the business in 2001 and has seen the reputation and size of the business grow year-on-year. The business has been nominated previously in the Confetti Awards and in the VOWS Awards no fewer than eight times! She is certain that the success of the business is down to her fantastic team and their dedication and professionalism and feels that putting a bride at ease is at the centre of the company’s ethos.
Sue Cripps
Tailoress
Sue has been with the Company as our dedicated Tailoress for 19 years and we are continually amazed at her skill and unique ability to alter gowns to fit our beautiful brides like a glove. She brings 35 years experience of altering couture garments, is a total perfectionist and has often performed “miracles” before our eyes, moulding dresses to fit each bride, bridesmaid and flowergirl perfectly. She is the devoted seamstress working tirelessly in the background.
Katie Butcher
Bridal Consultant
Katie has been the heart of The Wedding Planner team for over ten years! We call her “The Dress Whisperer!” as she has an almost magical ability to know the perfect dress to suit each and every bride! To know her is to love her!!! She is particularly good when working with a bride on her Big Day as she brings calmness and fun in equal measure!
Shona McConnell
Bridal Consultant
Shona had a background in finance, and then over fours years within retail bridal. She brings a warmth and engaging approach to her brides and never fails to make every bride feel welcome and at entirely at ease. Her wealth of industry experience meant that she slotted seamlessly into our wee team and has also dived into assisting in the office with financial and data processing. She is a total tonic and can make even the dreariest of tasks seem enjoyable.
Angela McKechnie
Bridal Consultant
Before joining us, Angela had over 14 years of High Street Retail experience in high-end ladies fashion. In her three years with the Company she has brought a holistic approach to styling the Bride and an eternal exuberance and enthusiasm which is completely infectious! She always goes the extra mile for her bride and is genuinely invested in ensuring that every bride’s wish is fulfilled.
Katie Mills
BridalConsultant & IT Assistant
Katie has just completed her Degree in Graphic Animation and is therefore invaluable in assisting in the marketing and graphic manipulation required to adequately promote the Company. She also works in the shop at the weekend and loves to assist in bridal styling appointments and is excellent at organising backstage at the numerous Bridal Catwalks we take part in or organise.
